Ingleton Training Weekend – 30 April to 3 May. Entries are now open – follow this link and then click on EntryCentral to enter online.

This is four days of training with three nights including bed, breakfast and dinner for £90.

Training sessions will be suitable for varying abilities; you can do as much or as little as you like. It isn’t just about the training, there is also the opportunity to relax and chill-out in good company.

A draft agenda and more information on the club website.

Club Challenge Bike Rides – Good Friday, 2 April and Sunday, 18 April. We have a couple of one-day challenge rides planned in April, plus a fun, local open time trial.

  1. On Good Friday, 2 April we have Ups & Downs in Wales, rides of 50, 70 or 100 miles starting and finishing at Pontcysyllte. All three rides take in some local classic climbs and quiet country roads.
  2. On Sunday, 18 April it will be the Cat & Mouse Challenge in Cheshire – a 76 mile ride from Audlem for the Mice, while the Cats leave from Chester and try to catch them over their own 100 mile ride.

More information on both these rides, including route maps is on the club website. No entry needed, just turn up on the day.

In addition, on Easter Sunday, 4 April there is a local 25 mile 2-up time trial – D25/8.

Entry for a team of 2 is £14, cheques to Mid Shropshire Wheelers, P M Ward, 8 Cedar Close, Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, SY3 0PD.

You need to complete a form (on the e-group Files, under Race Forms – District is Liverpool).

If you’re Billy No Mates, you can enter on your own for £7. But it’s more fun (and faster) to do 2-up.

ENDUROMAN. Enduroman Ltd is proud to announce its new Double Iron Distance event taking place, in 2011, on Lanzarote, Canary Islands.

It is their hope to attract athletes from every part of Europe and the World to participate in the Ultra distance event which, it is hoped, will take place annually over the first weekend of February.

Thus next year, the new Enduroman Double will take place during 4, 5 and 6 February 2011. It looks very promising that the event will be open to three-man club relays to find the fastest club in Europe or the World.

"If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."

"If there is no God, who pops up the next Kleenex?"

"You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is."
