Training
Training is divided into two principal areas:

  1. Pool Sessions
  2. Open Water

Swimming
Most training is currently conducted in the organised pool sessions. However, we are currently developing open water options – for the better weather!

What is expected from you?
All you need to do is turn up with suitable swim wear and goggles.

The coaches will help you in terms of which lane you will most benefit from. For guidance on the different swim standards, see below:

Novice

Intermediate

Advanced

Status

New to competitive swimming.

Limited understanding of technique.

May lack fitness.

Reasonably fit.

Technique: still in need of much development.

Fit and competitive swimmer.

Good technique.

Needs

Learn to swim.

Develop stroke, using drills.

Begin swim endurance.

Develop lane discipline.

Priority on technique, no pressure on speed!

May include: post injury rehab.

Stroke development.

Technique is king, speed follows.

Develop endurance.

Event preparation.

Endurance.

Speed sets.

Quality drill & stroke sets.

Event specific.

Technique maintenance.
